Current District 202 Students and Parents/Guardians:

The course selection process is critical to our 2024-25 building planning of staff and resources. Please use the information below, as well as the January email sent out to families, to work with your Counselor to select courses for the 2024-2025 school year.

Course Selection Timeline

Key dates/deadlines for course selection, one on one meetings with Counselors, and schedule changes are all listed here: PNHS Course Selection Process/Timeline.

Course Selection Resources

Curriculum Guide

The 2024-25 District 202 High School Curriculum Guide provides descriptions of all courses and programs available in District 202 high schools.  In order to plan a complete four-year course of study, students should study the pages carefully, confer with their parents/guardians, and strongly consider the advice of Teachers and Counselors.

Course Request Sheets

Course Request Sheets outline courses students can enroll in by grade level. Students and Counselors use the Course Request Sheets in their one on one meetings to choose classes.

Dual Credit

District 202 has entered into a cooperative agreement with Joliet Junior College (JJC), Waubonsee Community College (WCC), and University of St. Francis (USF) to offer dual credit coursework at each of its high schools for juniors and seniors. Specific details can be found in the 2024-25 PSD 202 High School Curriculum Guide.

Work with your Counselor and follow the instructions below to register:

WILCO

The WILCO Area Career Center offers students career-based courses providing skills required for continuing education and/or employment upon completion.  Juniors and seniors may enroll in programs at the Wilco Area Career Center, located in Romeoville.

Online Course Selection/Review

The online course selection window closed prior to one on one meetings with Counselors.

Students and parents/guardians should now review 2024-25 Course Requests in Home Access Center. Course requests can be viewed in the "Classes" section on the "Schedule" tab.

The deadline for initial changes is Friday, February 16. Building Administrators will then create a 2024-25 master schedule to accommodate the course requests of all students.

Home Access Center course request key:

  • Regular Requests: Required courses (such as Lunch, Lunch Study Hall LSH, or Health for sophomores) or courses that were recommended by current teachers based on performance in class this school year

  • Alternate Requests: Courses recommended based on meeting or exceeding test benchmarks (more information about the Accelerated Placement Act (APA) can be found in the 12/3/23 email sent by PSD 202)

Elective Course Changes

Note that current freshman who will be taking Driver's Ed outside of school must complete the Elective Change Request Form indicating which semester PE class they would like to take in its place.  PE class options are listed in the 2024-25 PSD 202 High School Curriculum Guide.  The deadline to make this change request is the last day of the 2024-25 school year.  If students fail to turn in the Elective Change Request Form, they will be placed in the Driver Ed, CPR, First Aid, & Safety class for the 2024-25 school year.
