The Functional Based Instruction: Structured, Environment, Life Skills, Education, Communication, Training; Focuses on building Social Skills, Self Help Skills, Self Advocacy, Functional Communication, and Community/ Vocational Instruction. It support students with intense needs (behavior, sensory, speech, etc) that prevent academic learning and daily functioning, who benefit from the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and Verbal Behavior around a functional curriculum. Program Description
The Post-Secondary Transition and Education Program is designed to provide a seam less transition from high school to adult life for students who are 18-21 years old with disabilities. The program is designed to provide opportunities to develop career/vocational skills, recreational/social skills and basic life skills in a community-based educational setting. To participate in this program, the student will be 18-22 years of age (services will cease the school year after the student turned 22 years old) and have completed 18+ credits or be eligible for graduation. The focus of the program will be to provide the students with skills needed to obtain and maintain community employment and increase independent living skills through the community-based experiences. The program will also focus on the development of social/recreational skills.
