Seniors (Class of 2025)
Hello Class of 2025!
The last three years have led to this moment-you are seniors. We can't wait to see what exciting things graduation will bring. Regardless of what your plans are after high school, you will be busy this year.
For those of you that will be attending college next year, we will soon delve into the college application process.
Many college applications did open up on August 1st. If you are getting a heads start on those applications, that is great. If you are not there yet, don't worry. The fall is the perfect time to fine tune your choices and apply to schools. Early deadlines range from November 1st and December 15th.
As the College and Career Counselor, I will be coming to your English classes in early September to assist you with the post-secondary process. During this time, you will hear and receive pertinent information about college applications, deadlines, personal statements, letters of recommendation, scholarships, and financial aid.
We will also be hosting a free college essay writing workshop in September, as well as JJC workshops in December and February.
In addition, we are having our district wide College Fair with 130 colleges/universities in early October! College representatives will be coming to Plainfield North to meet with interested students between September- November.
After you have applied for college admissions, don't forget to apply for various scholarships between December - April. These can be found on Naviance (Scholarship List and National Scholarship search) and through the individual college/universities' websites.
All seniors must complete the FAFSA Graduation requirement in order to receive a diploma. For help on completing the FAFSA, see videos here. In addition, see troubleshooting info here.
In April, you will complete a senior survey informing us of what your plans will be for next year and where to send your final transcript. College decision day is May 1st.
Information will be posted as it arises in multiple locations, including the website, Google Classroom, social media, and emails. Don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions.
Have a fantastic senior year!
